Assalamuallaikum Lan,
Notes yang menarik. I did posting similar subject as it. Cuma saya masukkan daun bamboo. Shot yang menarik dan kreatif. Burung apa ni? Good presentation. Tahniah!

saya punya pemandangan begini, Jang....

too far for a 'portrait' but interesting for this kind of minimalistic composition, with this deep blue, and the bird in a fine part of the frame, light is too harsh and contrast is hard, but it works fine as well

Salam...
Let the major be major, and the minor be minor
In my opinion, I guess it is the beautiful blue hue of the sky you are trying to show and emphasize, hence the title and monologue you wrote in your note. The bird and the green banana leaf played their roles as an interesting compliment to the prominent blue sky, your main subject - but I think the bird and leaf has to be a bit smaller and a bit darker to almost a silhouette, so it can be a successful 'minor' in the frame.
Now, your major, the blue sky. I have to say this sir... it needs something like a pinch of clouds to be a nice major. It is a nice negative space but as a main subject, I think it looks quite dreary to showcase. Again, it needs a pinch of clouds to be a nice ‘major’.
Hehehe... yah! Go get the 500mm!!! Next time you see this prospect, you can forget about the sky! Sia ingat sia mo pigi gadai yang sebelah… sia rasa masih laku lagi tu. Sia sudah pigi tanya, diurang bilang bulih ba qalao qou! Apa kata?
Sir, this is about discussion, not to say that the shot isn't good. I am also still learning...
Blueeeeeeee!!! Nice blue!

Assalamaualaikum Ruslan,
to me it is a great hot shot.
Lovely sky and great green leaves.
Brown bird, makes it sweet and suitable.

Hi Ruslan, I like this as the bird is well position and the blue skies are the perfect backdrop. Birds are on of the best subtects for thiese sites. TFS. Murray.
PS Good to meet you last week and chat about camera settings etc.

Assalammualaikum Jang.
The other day, I told Ram that I have a name for anything that has this impression. The Ujang Impression. The Ujang Impression to my definition, is a scene with a singular subject and an imposing blue as the background. It's of the graphical nature and more of an impression rather than the normal basic photography textbook quality. While some photographers have never left school or too adhering to guidelines, you know enough to know when to break the rules in making your composition works and visually attractive just as well. Always remember, subject matters most. Guidelines are guide...not prohibitive rules.
