[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yes, another slow shutter speed and an off-camera flash to capture the frozen water-drops. And, no! No heavy-PP was done here.

If you’d seen my previous post, I did mentioned about “What will happen if I trigger the flash from this angle, at this range?”. So, this is the result I got as an answer to one of my curiosities. I was using a different backdrop/reflector in this shot. It was a plastic sheet wrapped with a gold foil; the one that was used in cake packaging – I found it, also, in kitchen cabinet :). Very useful as a good (I may say, great) reflector. A bare (without diffuser) off-camera flash triggered at camera top right, about 5cm towards and close to the reflector – the reflector was about one and a half feet from the subject, angled slightly upwards to avoid the bounced light reflection from burning out the dripping-point base, a CD. The lighting technique produced a result that looks like a hi-key shot (is it correct to term this as a hi-key?).

This final image was a crop from the original shot in Workshop. Final image had given a tad tweaking on levels and saturation. A minor cloning was done to erase some of unnecessary water-drops. Sharpness was enhanced after the final cropping and resizing.

Give it a try. You may like the fun with the play of something away from our routine landscape, portrait, nature or whatever discipline we love at. A cup of coffee and rhythmic tunes might help to inspire...

P/S: I guess I made a bad note/explanation in my previous post. I'll try to simplify the main points and attach it to my next post tomorrow. TQ

kalau beginilah hari-hari bereksperimen, penat juga org gaji mengemas props di dapur. suasana jadi macam tongkang pecah yang berselerak. nanti mau masak kepayahan mencari kuali entah ke mana, sudip entah ke mana. anak mau tingu CD pun basah kena pakai jadi prop. lantai sure habis basah mesti mau mop punya....LOL

imej yang luar biasa bagusnya...cuma sayang, dipaparkan di hujung minggu, inda banyak org meningu.

another superb image from your experiment, Ndan, so uniquely composed and you are nearly reaching that master status for this 'genre'.

Another GRAND photo Ramdan! I wish I could SEE you do this, because I am not understanding what the difference is between using a flash and making the room dark and flashing in a pic, isn't it alot of work for the same thing? Or I'm missing something! But the result is stunning! The tones are smooth, incredibly nice!

An impressive experiment and a different take on the classic water droplet shot. Colours are great and I love the contrast between the water drops and the stark white bg.

Well my friend we see quite a lot of water droplets posted on here but this one really does stand out.A very original POV with excellent DOF and good sharp details. I love the colours here too. Well done this is excellent.

Well done Ram. I see you and Agus are getting more creative with the kitchen utensils and foods. Don't you both know, it's not good to play with your foods :) Now imagine if both of you were inside "Hell's Kitchen". Chef Ramsay would be in fit!
