DHONI - THE MALDIVIAN BOAT.

dhoni-the dhivehi(maldivian) name for boat.

masdhoni-means the fishing boat.

this boat has always fascinated me mainly because of its shape.the prow of the boat (front portion) is characteristically distinct and has remained so for centuries together,even as the boats are being fitted with engines and partly being modernised.

prow of the boat is helpful especially when the boat
goes in shallow waters.the boatmen will stand in the front of the boat with support of the prow,guiding their captain to sail the boat.

this particular boat was being repaired in this island,Kulhudhuffushi,and getting ready to be back in waters.

I realy like the shape of its prow, it is a stunning design for a boat. The colors are beautiful and you selected a point of view that make the boat look like a monument on the thumbnail. Very good presentation. Very interesting note.
