[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A typical suburban scene, from this rarely photographed metropolis of Ulan Bator, often abbreviated, to just 'UB'. Over 1/3 of Mongolia's total population of 3 million, reside in this one city. The polarized wealth of the city can be gauged by the gleaming new highrise at left, contrasting sharply, with the low key 'ger' structures in the fg.

A 'ger' is a circular Mongolian tent, usually constructed of wooden poles & animal skins dried & bleached in the sun. They can be packed up & transported by camels, led by the nomads. An aerial shot, of whole neighborhoods of these 'urban' gers, would make a fantastic shot, imho.

Hello Chris! Wonderful colors. Nice lightness. Very interesting place. Good shot. Well done!

Amazing shot, the air looks so nice and clear! Our "nomads" don't even use tents...they just grab a cardboard box and sleep in it! It's sad! This is a nice city shot Chris!

Hi Chris,
Amazing to learn that over 1/3 of Mongolia's total population of 3 million, reside in this one city. The blue sky and the intense natural colors are attractive elements of the scene. Best regards, Danilo

Wonderful colours Chris. These ger tents are fascinating and sound actually a bit romantic. It would be fun to be able to just relocate when ever you wanted. Mind you not so much fun that I would want to do it long :0. Great detail and great information.
Warm Regards
Wanda
