Yet another view, from the stunning countryside around Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. And yes, they definitely ARE tilted!

More info from wikipedia:

"Gorkhi-Terelj National Park (Mongolian: Горхи-Тэрэлж, creek-rhododendron) is one of the national parks of Mongolia. The Terelj tourist zone has a number of "tourist camps" (Mongolian: жуулчны бааз, juulchny baaz). It is connected with Ulan Bator by a paved road (main road to the East #A0501 Baganuur-Öndörkhaan direction, 37 km from Ulan Bator city center, left turn to the branch #A24, 5 km later road crosses Tuul River and the National park territory begins). The road comes to the Gorkhiin Davaa (Mongolian: Горхийн даваа) pass. Most of the tourist camps and tourist attractions are before this pass. The road then ends in Terelj settlement, which features small shops and restaurants. Terelj settlement is located in the Terelj Gol river dale, approximately 66 km from Ulan Bator city center. The national park tourist zone is formally Ulan Bator Nalaikh düüreg (district) part, the rest (protected) zone begins to the North from Terelj Gol river and is located in Mongolia's Töv aimag."

lol !! Good title.
It’s nice to still have a view at the countryside beyond without losing the focus on those rocks. You have captured this scene very nicely with smooth colours, lovely textures and superb sharpness.

Joris

PS: I would rotate the image 60° counterclockwise… :-)))

Hi Chris,

Seems you travel a lot . . and this kind of journey I like to do . .
Last week I was from Bali, and planning mid this month to Bromo . . again . .
Is there any note explaining the reason why these stones tilted? . .
Interesting to read your note . .

Tfs,
TJutjut

Bonjour Chris,
Very beautiful scenery. Colors are great and your point of view interesting. Merci
Diane

That is so amazing how rocks just DO things...and it makes me stand there and ask WHY?? You know the wind didn't do it! So what did? Really nice work here Chris!

Nice landscape. HOwever, the rocks in first plan are distracting the rst of the landscape. You may want to crop the right hand side or just use less of the rocks.
Color and light are well balanced.
Cheers,
Wellington

Hello Chris,
I like the pov here. Very different looking rocks.
Beautiful colors. TFS

Hi Chris,
This posting along with previous Terelj images are very attractive. Mongolia has now been included in my to-visit list someday when i find time and money. The topography is interesting and the splash of green from a dsitance provides good contrast. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Chris,

Hi Chris, splendid composition with wonderful rocks, fantastic colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

hi Chris

I wonder what is the age of the stone. Really wonderful heritage to see them being preserved in a place like this in Mongolia. Good color texture to provide you with contrast to the surrounding.

tfs, bill

Good placement and compositon here Chris.
I really can get a sense of this area from this shot.
Well done with the polarizer, things are sharp and clear and super rich color wise.
Well done.

Great shot, Chris! The light on the fg is bright, but I know you had to do that for the darker rocks. HDR might me a better idea for this with a tripod with two different shutter speeds, then fuse them. TFS
