[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken near Ogii Lake (200 metres left from here), which is about 300 km due west of Ulan Bator. I had never milked a cow before in my life! The Mongolian woman insisted all the tourists try it. She gave us all a look, as if to say 'pathetic!', to show her dismal views on our pitiful efforts. There's definitely an art to it. Mongolians call a 'lake' a "Nuur", thus 'Ogii Nuur'.

There is some motion blur on the calf, which was eager to get a piece of the action, & had to be temporarily restrained.

Hello Chris.
Very nice looking picture, but I wonder how can 'she' give milk when there is that little of grass, ?

Hi Chris
What a place! A true desert. I wonder how people live in such desolete places. As for the milking I remember when I was a kid my grandpa would let milk the goat. You musy know how to do it otherewise there's no milk

I understand the blur Chris, I'm not a perfectionist ;-) It's a natural candid shot. How nice to see the simple life of other human being in our mother earth. Great work Chris.

Chris Hi;
I find this extremely interesing, it seems the landscape is totally void of growth. Excellent note, I looked and looked wondering what the cow eats to produce milk.

Of course there's motion blur on the calf, Chris... all those bl***y tourists take its food away ;o)).
A nice capture, the high PoV clearly shows the animals and the tourist. I think the shot lacks a bit of contrast in the plains, though the purple jacket is well saturated...

It is the pastel colours that intrigue me here Chris. The foreground colours with the clothes, and animals just contrast so beautifully with the them. I notice that poor mommy has her back legs tied so she could not kick the bucket , while the tourist attempted their milking. I am sure the little calf would have gladly relieved them of the responsibility. Very interesting and well done.
Warm Regards
Wanda
