The colorful Khadags on a rock at Erdene Zuu temple at the ancient capital of Kharkhorin. Usually they're blue, to relate to the blue sky, and placed around sacred objects & places. Khadags are a trait of Shamanism still common throughout Mongolia.

I haven't seen you for a while Chris - how are you?
Are these Khadags like prayer flags. And I wonder if those broken stones or pieces of pottery have special meanings too.
It's an interesting scene, and TFS

Well composed Chris. I am always amazed at some of the colours that the Pentax produces, I recall the one I had doing the same with clothing but not so much in landscapes. Good detail throughout and nice textures in the stones,
David

Hi Chris. Perfect placement of the colourful rock in this composition. The saturation is just right. Another fine photo of this remote part of the world. A good series. TFS. Murray.
