Myanmar Immigration Checkpoint
Going to a place where a Junta or military is the ruler, in the midst of an uprising, and coming up to a checkpoint, on stilts, in the middle of a murky river... alone in an old wooden boat w/ someone who could slash the rotor blade anywhere, or reroute and be in front of gangs to get my things and be thrown dead in the water, it's a heart-thumping experience all in all. I'll make a travelogue to tell in detail, what happened in this adventure. I'm lucky to be alive! :)

Pp work:
I'd like to check if I could do the border design I see often here in TL. I was able to do it... it's so easy! :)

1. tweak Curve and Shadow/Highlight for color saturation
2. add canvass size and use the TL background color as the border color
3. make a shadow effect on the left and bottom of the picture
4. resize for TL

I like the composition and colours in this photograph. A good POV. It is clear you are a good photographer. Congratulations.

For the people of Myanmar, I respect their struggle for their rights. I hope they get what they want and peace without getting hurt further.

A great photojournalism type shot.
I'm glad you made it out ok.
Its pretty saddening to see whats been happening to the pro democracy demonstrators in Myanmar this week. Its hard to understand how people could kill Buddhist monks ... or anyone really.
I really hope that something changes for the better there soon.

Hi Freddie - An interesting documentary shot and story. The boat with its red sides is well placed in the FG. The POV is interesting. A pity to see the boatman's back (also covering up the people waiting on land). But then - you don't always get what you want to. The feel is there, though! Fine quote by Sam Abbell, too! TFS it all!
