[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These days I remember our vacation in Burma a lot because of the most recent people's uprise against the junta. Visiting the country there less than a year ago we were impressed with the 'untouched' character of both people and landscape. Time has been standing still in Burma for about four decades since the junta isolated the country to govern it with an iron fist and - apparently - little interest in the people's well-being.

In this image you can see young monks laughing and enjoying each other's company at the Swedagon pagoda in Yangon. Today, the place is sealed off by barbed wire and the country's hundreds of thousands of monks are being pursued relentlessly by the junta for their having lead the recent protests.

Such a terrible and sad situation. My prayers are with them. This is such a nice picture of these three, all with nice expression. Very good color.

A good street shot. You have captured the monks natural expressions. I know they are a peaceful people but sad to hear of the recent events in that area.

I think it would look better if you have captured the two statue heads in full.

Nice candid shot Cordelia, saturated gold & red is seem to be very common in this part of the world.. well composed and presented, thanks..

Very poignant notes Cordelia. Let us hope that the problems there do not escalate. A lovely image, well composed and superb colours and detail. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Laughing Kookaburra’. I don't know if it was ill or just left the nest. One of the local parking inspectors was in front of the bird with a mobile phone taking photos of it. He would have been 2 feet away, 6 feet or more for me.

Hi Cordelia,
Excellent capture of the daily life in Birma or should I say Myanmar ? Anyway a shame these monks can't laught at this very moment, but I'm happy you captured this scene, great details and natural colours and the lighting is fine even the white parts in the buda's don't show any OE.
Job well done and TFS.

Bonjour Cordelia,

ciao Cordalia.. a beutiful dedication..
yes it's a pity for that country in this moment.. but never mind.. i think their millenarian culture will revive!! u have to be sure of this!!
i like ur pov.. scene is so natural and put a smile on my lips.. good compo.. wonderful note!!
ciao Marco

Hello Cordelia!
Your photo and comment note explained me a lot of the happening these days in those remote parts of the world. The quality of the picture is very good.
Greetings and best wishes!
Anton

Funny to see the 'time to relax' idea here.
(Other than there poor fellow monks in Burma)

Hello Cordelia!

Nice tribute to the people you made here. Well done.

I have written these lines to Tjutjut today. I think I may repeat them here:

Quote:
Certainly TL is a great community. I am delighted to have joined it and made so many good relationships too. We realize boundaries are man made, not real. It is up too each of us to make the world better. We should not leave that to politicians and business men. They like too much too play with public opinion. Even more today !

Keep on the good work Cordelia !

And lets work for a peaceful world.
Cheers!
Robert

Hi Cordelia,

Great composition Cordelia - to see the naturalness of the monks - their everyday life - and now to wonder what has happened here since the protests.

Bravo Cordelia,
