The "Cow" festival, Gai Jatra honors family members who have died during the last year. A long pole with their picture, a mirror, goats head, umbrella; or a cart with a cow image travels down the streets in a procession. Dancers, Gods, live cows, drummers, stick dancers, all pay homage to "the dear and departed".
