| Swayambunath, the "Monkey Temple" is alive with Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags sending prayers to heaven with every breeze. Hindus and Buddhist have coexisted in peace for centuries and centuries in Nepal. One of the 4 huge stupas that guard Kathmandu with Buddhas eyes, are found here, In ancient times, one marked each corner of Kathmandu for protection. A Tibetian Buddhist monastery and Hindu temples exist mixed together on the mountain top, overlooking Kathmandu. Everyone is welcome! |

I like the natural framing by the prayer flags in the FG. The flags seem more crisp than the BG though. TFS. K2

Hi gloria
Good sharpness on the prayer flags, with excellent framing on the 2 temple guardians. The people add scale. Tfs!
Hi Didi,
This is a great shot. I like the lighting through the flags and how they have captured the breeze. Nice colors and details throughout. Every where you look, you see something interesting! Nice to have the person there too for scale.
Very interesting notes too.
