Walking to ghats at dusk
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I am going down the stairs past ancient temples and monument's to the ghats at dusk. Bodies of Hindus are still burning on the ghats, just out of sight. They lay on the flat stone platforms along the Bagmati river. Each small building along the way, holds Lingas, a symbol of Shiva. They are are centered in each building, placed on a Yoni, the female counterpart. Pashipatinath is the most holy place in Nepal for Hindus. |
