When you hang around your parents all day at work, you can learn by yourself. His entire family makes drums. He has the idea, but not all the ingredients. A black gooey substance is spread on the top of the drum. A knife smooths it out, and makes it into a nice circle and thickness. Then it is rubbed with the black rock on the ground. He has the motions down pat, but no black stuff. He knows how to play the drums too!
