| This is taken during my trip to Nepal. Sardhus are still widely respected by the locals, reason being that people are revered for their holiness, sometimes feared for their curses. It is also thought that the austere practices of the sadhus help to burn off their karma and that of the community at large. Thus seen as benefiting society, sardhus are supported by donations from many people. Historically and contemporarily, sardhus have often been viewed with a certain degree of suspicion, particularly amongst the urban populations. Today, especially in popular pilgrimage cities, posing as a 'sadhu' can be a means of acquiring income for non-devout beggars. I wonder this man here is a real Sardhu or otherwise. A degree of inquisitive mind may help to find the answer, But i was not interested to find out. How about you? |

Lovely three quater view portrait with excellent light quality highlighting the character of the face. The expression and the color of the turban adds to the visual impact. I did a workshop to improve it but that is just my opinion. It is an excellent post. Your portraits have awesome expressive quality.
