Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu's Durbar Square is one of three durbar (royal palace) squares in the Kathmandu Valley.

There is so much going on there, temples, statues, wedding parades, holy men, animals, rickshaws, things to buy from vendor. you can just sit there in the middle of the square and you can watch it for hours.

The Durbar Square, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. Even to date, all the major state and social ceremonies, including the solemnization of coronations are performed in one of the courtyards in this complex.

Hello Figen,

This is a fine capture of streetside life, good storytelling!
Many interesting details, the blurry lady passing is typical as only a few stop to buy...
In the meantime the saleslady is busy reading her magazine while her merchandise is on display for anyone!

Greetings,
Pablo

Hello Figen,
There is much to absorb and enjoy in this scene. I have always dreamed about visiting Nepal and this pic would suffice for now. The passing woman on the right side of the frame adds dynamism, the produce are sharp and focused. Overall, a very wholesome image. My best regards, Danilo
