| In 1996, I studied abroad with Moorpark College. We spent 3 months in living in Nepal, (then toured India, a couple of weeks). In Nepal we traveled constantly, besides having the regular classes that would have been taught in the USA. We lived in Marpha one month, high in the Himalayas, and then traveled down to the flat Terai jungle for three days, then to a valley city, Pokara. Nepal had many crocodiles and rhinos living in the jungle at this time. Villages here in the jungle were still traditional, now many are concrete. We also lived in Kathmandu between travels, then 2/3rds was still a 14th century medievel city. It was beautiful, and a life time treat! Still my favorite place on earth! |
