| Glacial waters roar below, one of the hundreds of bridges in Nepal to connect villages with the road. Bridges away from the road were rarily this safe. Huge anceint planks were missing on most. Posts would be loose, with piles of rocks around the base, preventing the entire bridge from slipping into the river. Yu can see the foundations of 2 previous bridges placed at river level and washed away. The bridges might even be a simple single plank or fallen tree, on small crevices. I crossed endless bridges, even waded streams waist high, treking. The beauty is worth it many times over. My fear of heights often made it diffult to appreciate a view, and impossible to photo. (I just could not even lift the camera to click it on scarier heights.)` |
