The Himalayas are steep, and high. Mt. Everest in Nepal, represents the coldest, thinnest air altitude any man can climb to. As you trek up and down, and back again in the climate zones, the scenery constantly changes. Here in the lush moist valley, bananas are part of the local crops. Three crops a year are often possible in parts of Nepal. Treking can take you from tropical heat to Mt. Everest base camp. A man carryng bags of grain walks by. (My "porter" is way ahead of me with my bag, unhappy to have such a slow client. He climbs mountains usually for his agency, including Everest.

Hi Gloria, it must have been an incredible experience trekking around a place like this, it looks absolutely breathtaking. I really like the somewhat candid feel of the shot, the way it is a little hazy or washed out at the top to show the atmosphere and the quality of the air. I can tell it's lush and humid. Nice natural colors and tones, the greens are lovely. Great point of view from the side of the dirt walkway looking down it at an angle to get a sense of perspective, especially with your "porter" up ahead in the background and the man carrying the bag of grain in the foreground. I just feel like the composition could be more whole and unified if the man in the foreground were not cropped at the legs. I am wondering if kneeling down a bit and taking the shot would have helped. One more thing: there's a certain lack of sharpness or focus in the shot, and i am not sure whether that has to do with the humidity or the camera focus...really wonderful capture though, it looks so beautiful and inviting. TFS!

defenetly nice view. interesting note usefull too. nice photo.

Gloria,
Another fine photographic report!
Good diagonal composition with fine details, impressive narrow valley with the steep sides...
The sky is a bit overexposed, but not really bothering me!
Greetings,
Pablo -
