The mighty Himalayas, shot through a dirty window at sundown, enroute from Kathmandu to Janakpur. Opening the window at this altitude, was not an option!

I love the 'layered' effect, culminating in this beautifully lit range on the top, thanx, M, (*_*)

Nice layered composition with nice colours & light on these mighty mountains. Interesting to read that this was taken from a plane window as you got a very good results. Well done!

Sometimes dirty windows give good effects;)
I always enjoy to see this scenery, I just love the sunlit peaks...will I ever reach them...
tfs this beauty!
M:)

Hi Chris,
This seems like unreal... Taken from a plane...
Looks like an old painting, with strange lighting and unusual colours... For some reason the view is bautiful too...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Chris,

What a view!! It really takes your breath away...!
I like the fact that your photo has layers. Very well captured considering the conditions (plane).
Well done!

Constantinos

Hi Chris,
It's interesting! Wish there was less noise in it; however, I like it still :D Well done.
Cheers,
Mohammad

I think that the window adds some extra character Chris, by providing a soft colouring effect. Great composition too.

Hi Chris,
great shot, considering iot was taken through a airplane window. Good POV and nice depth with excellent detail. Must be amazing seeing this mountain range.
TFS..Sky

Very nice layered composition, each layer with unique texture and lighting, great job!

I think the dirty window gives that shot an amazing look. I like how the edges are dark and the center is very bright and even though it looks like there is a lot of noise which is maybe the dirt and the colors are a little lackluster it makes it look like an old photo you found somewhere.

Hi Chris.
Mystic and wonderful place, great shot.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a good weekend, best wishes.

Yasin.

Must be a great view in real live chris ....nice composition with the wide view , just a pitty about the grain though ..

regards

Leon

Awesome. The haziness creates a bit of a painting effect. Rather leave the windows alone. You won't be very popular if you attempt to open it.

Hi Chris, A very good composition of this Top of the World. I'd love to see this part of the world, especially on a clear day like this. Well displayed. Murray.

Fantastic foto!
There is beautiful nature.
Well done and TFS

Hi Chris, superb mountain view from the airplane! No don't open the window, you will get a little draft ;))

I love to see the layers of mountains, the colours, and the grain adds a special mood.

Very well done and seen! Tfs. Yan :)

p.s. thx so much for your review on "Looking at Countryside from Lookout". Next time I will post one of Ben looking at the view and I managed to spot a good place where we have a large view.

Hi Chris, lucky that window was clear, and sky was clear. Wonderful picture of Himalaya friend. :) Vandana

Dear Chris,
Please let me know whether you willfully created the vignetting(the cutting of corners)or it was due to a hasty shooting.
However thats nice.
Be in good health,

Guruprasad

The window was dirty? I just hope the pilot had a better view. At the begin i was curious how could you have that amount of noise into the shot But with light in the good angle i understand! It looks practically like a surreal effect!
Impressive mountain view!

Hello Chris,

Well dirty window or not-there is no mistaking the wonderful layers of colours and textures of 'the top of the world'. In this case i think the noise from shooting thru the window adds to the appeal.

TFS, Joni
