High in the mountains she lived in a group of houses. This group of houses is permanent used over the year on a altitude 0f 4020 meters (12.000 feet) Most of the older people have gray stare. In will become blind before the demise. The cause in UV on that altitude.

Hi really like this photo , she reminds me of the indians here also in Peru , the ones that live in the hightlands have the same look . They have a very hard life.Very well captured, where was this taken?

Mooi opgenomen Ruud.
Het valt me op dat mensen - waar ze ook leven - eenzelfde soort bitterheid kunnen hebben in het gelaat; een uitdrukking los van omgeving en cultuur. Wat is de verwantschap dan toch groot.
Ik heb een technische vraag bij deze: in haar omgeving is alles geblurred of vervaagd en ik zie dan een soort van noise die normaal als lastig wordt gezien.
Hoe zit dat hier? Wil je dit zo omdat de omgeving anders te zacht wordt of ....

Disturbing to hear about their blindness - but surely they are special people for those heights. I like the way you have kept the contrast and colours wee mooted here to give the picture a hint of sombreness. Very well done Ruud - TFS

Maybe I would it a little bit darker, but I like the pov and the "old" mood. Nice shot Ruud.
