[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
on my way back from Karachi to Quetta, i stopped at a small restaurant for lunch... the flood had destroyed the bridge and i was left with no choice other than to stay for lunch :)

i took out the camera and walked inside, the wooden table's texture appealed to me and so did the position of the plates and the shreds of tomatoes and onion :)

this is how i framed it, i was using iso 800 and this is the original composition :) no crop no fancy stuff :)

i tried a black and white version, but upon tweaking the colors and contrast, ended up liking this one more :) an aperture of 2.8 was used for this shot to keep the table and its contents in focus while throwing the floor out of focus :)

though the restaurant looked messy, the food they served was very good and the hospitality they showed, was amazing :)

i drove back to karachi after failing to pass through the ravine... the water current was too strong...

let's see what you think :)

Great still life. Nice details, good focusing, and good lighting. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the small thing in the corner of the picture on the bottom left side.
Well done!
Thanks for sharing,

Really awesome shot Muhammad, I was drawn to it immediately in the main gallery. It is so sharp and vivid, and the lighting creating those rich contrasts and tones is really incredible. Great point of view from atop looking down to draw a balance between the plate and the onion and tomato peels. Excellent sense of details and textures in the wooden, old table and excellent how the sidelighting is emphasizing the textures and contours of all the subjects. Great shallow depth of field to keep the objects and table in-focus while the background is out-of-focus, making everything pop out. The placement of the plates off-center and the tomato and onion peel to balance at the bottom right is really effective. The only thing that's bugging me is the little object at the way bottom left corner that's breaking the continuity of the shot, it's sort of distracting. Otherwise incredibly beautiful work, it has this National Geographic quality to it. TFS!
