[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
this guy was the chef, at the small restaurant i stopped at for lunch, on my way from Karachi to Quetta city.

i observed him to be a very silent man... he only uttered a few words during my stay...

i took this photo with his permission, and he did that by just smiling... i was shooting at an ISO of 800, so while he was preparing our meal, i decided to take a quick shot, a natural one :) and i guess it goes well with his personality...

the aperture was set at 2.8, so thats why we have a nice blur :) i did try a black & white version, but chose to stick to the color one, for some reason... this photo is for my buddy Kohi (treklens:wanderer)... i manually focused this one, and if you observe closely, you can see how beautifully the details have been resolved by the camera's sensor at ISO 800 :)

hope you like it, thanks for viewing, let's see what you think :)

Hi Muhsin,

It's a great shot. His seriousness and expression are clearly captured. You did very well presenting it. Well done.

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Hi Muhammad! I like the detail and the DOF. The exposure is just right. I like how you framed it.
TFS,
Freddie :)

Shallow DoF makes the chef stand out indeed, Muhammad, except on top where his hair blends in with the dark bg. You might have cropped that part off, the pic wouldn't sufffer, I think.
Good light on his face, it really brings out details. TFS!

Excellent use of available light. Good exposure and I especially like the warm natural colours. I think you were right to leave this in colour. Good DOF as well. A slight crop above the head wouldn't hurt. Well done.

800!! Ah man now I'm completely convinced that I'll be totally happy with my D200, I see no distortion here... and that 2.8 stop really made a gorgeous background. I love blurry backgrounds and sharp foregrounds... but should be obvious in a lot of my images! :)

This reminds me of work, everytime one of my boss' sons' come in he asks me, "Why are you so quiet," and I'll usually respond, "I said 'Hi' to you didn't I? Plus, I have nothing to say," or I'll just laugh off the question, he says it's good to be quiet, but I wonder! Maybe this guy in your photo would know. :)

The image speaks very well for itself, and I liked the ease you wrote the note with. One of my favourites by you Muhammad, there's something very soft about the image... a subtle attribute I can't completely point out. Maybe it's his down-cast eyes and just the lighting. Anyways, enough said, TFS.

Biance.

I was in Islamabad for last few days. Returned today and saw this pictures. Wow what a great composition, colors and details. Very well done.
