you captured them very lovingly. The subject mother and child is of all ages, so not to special. Your photo is special because you cansee the connection between you and your models. you photographed without distance

I think your wife was pretty brave to be portrayed like this!
Now... about the image itself: What I would do for sure with THIS picture is crop off the bottom part! Simply because the bottom part of the picture isn't sharp enough and besideds that, your wife obviously just had a baby and her body is probably not yet back in shape.
Besides, she has the most beautiful eyes and that is something you would like to show!
I am not very sure about the color either, but that is just a personal taste.
Maybe I can show you what I mean in a little workshop.
