This was taken at the Hilton in Mactan, Cebu. The structure is a restaurant at the end of a wharf.

I had my camera on shutter priority of 1/30. I chose this setting so that I can take a picture with the slowest possible shutter speed without motion blur, and let the camera decide the aperture for me. I got the figure because I had my 24mm prime on. As a rule of thumb, you normally set your shutter speed as one over (1/)=commensurate or preferably higher than the focal length of your lens. So for example, if you are shooting on a 100mm zoom end, your shutter speed must be 1/100, or in this case 1/125 since most DSLR's don't have a 1/100 value.

I shot this in RAW, converted to JPG and adjusted its levels and curves, increased saturation using Channel Mixer. I sharpened it then resized for TL. I resharpened it again for a final touch.

Hope you like it. :D

Ir's a great photo!
Congratulations!

Sergio

The vivid colors against the different hues of the sky & shades of blues is a great combination. The bright contrast transforms what would have been an okay-looking scenery image into something that can grab your attention.

Hello Pierre, I was looking through someone else's work and saw that you had them down as a favourite. Was checking out some new people who I hadn't looked at before and wondered how I could have missed your work. This one for example is stunning, well composed and good vibrant colours. I've added you to my favourites - hope thats OK... :-) Lesley
