Hmm ...

Ok, the photo itself is all right. The composition is good at least, placement of the dog is well thought out, and the focus is right - it's sharp just where it should be, the only problem is that we can't see Machi's eye, and the eye is the most important part of a portrait.

As a result, any connection a viewer might feel with your dog, and any affection we might feel as a result, is lost. I have to say it's also an odd mouth position, so we don't get the impression of it being likeable, or cute, or any of those things we're supposed to associate with a pet.

Sorry - I feel I need to be honest about this!

On a personal note, as you'll already know, I'm not a fan of ornate frames, especially not with titles in them, and I find the clashing colours of the border and various fonts very baduy once again.

I hope I haven't bummed you out for the day. Keep shooting, keep it simple, and learn to shoot by the rules before you learn to break the rules.
