_i shall return_

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
General MacArthur played a big part in Philippine history. Allied forces under MacArthur's command, covered by aircraft from Halsey's carriers, landed at Leyte Island on October 20, 1944 - thereby fulfilling MacArthur's vow to return to the Philippines. These statues commemorate his promise, "I came through and I Shall Return".
The photo was taken in MacArthur Park, Palo, Leyte from our vacation last June.
Hope you like it!
