[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first collage. I hope it looks ok. I was thinking of posting these photos one at a time, but I changed my mind... I though it would look more interesting this way.. What do you think?

I have read that when taking photos of kids, you should take them eye level. This angle was just an experiment, its suppose to be stolen shot but Janella caught me (upper right), she was surprised but she liked it. And she started to pose for me and she really enjoyed it. The funny part was I wanted to try taking pictures of her at eye level but she insist of taking it this angle. lol.

Total of four photos. (Used ISO 200)
Big photo - Av 2.8 , Tv 1/500
Upper right photo - Av 2.8 , Tv 1/400
Middle right photo - Av 2.8 , Tv 1/320
Lower right photo - Av 2.8 , Tv 1/320

Tech Talk
1. Selected the main photo for the biggest photo, resized for TL using MS Paint
2. Selected three other photos for the smaller ones, resized and added border around it using MS Paint
3. Rotated the three small photos using MS Photo Editor
4. Placed the photos together using Arcsoft PhotoStudio (Just started to use this)
5. Filled the white spaces with color black and added some stars and signed using PhotoStudio.

Please feel free to comment on my photo. Your suggestions and critiques are important to me so that I could improve my photography and PP. Thanks in advance.

I think this level gives the photo an edge, it symbolises her looking up to you as (is it?) mother...I think it also brings out her expresive eyes more...very well done!

I read that one too, "eye level". But this angle works for me on this one. More edgy.

Your subject is soooo cute. She's a natural. I like your collage, it shows her innocence and playfulness. Come to think of it, you didn't even create this using PS. Can you imagine what you can create if you have it?

Thanks for sharing. GREAT PP job.

Cathy, this is the sweetest little face I have seen, she is a natural model. I like you collage it shows her playfullness.
TFS.

Cute, sweet and adorable! This photo really made me smile.

Using a collage is a good choice. "Eye level" is just a guideline, since it works in most cases - but not all. A worms eye view may denote self confidence in a child. Birds eye view (in this case) shows innocence. The 2 blurred photo is even fine with me - spontainiety. IMO.

For improvement, you can adjust color balance to make the skin tones more natural (it looks magenta). Saturate and a little contrast to bring out the red shirt and green grass more punch. I'd extend the main photo to the right to serve as the small pics background. A good photo editor will do the trick. Hope this helps.

Cathy it is a very good collage. I like the way you placed all pictures and I like the way Janella look up. (Sorry for my english) Janella is a beautiful yong girl...

Me gusta mucho tu trabajo en esta foto. Tienes una gran ventaja, Janella es una niña preciosa y muy expresiva. Muy bien hecho el collage, si éste es el primero estoy deseando ver los futuros. Saludos.

This angle is also very good as it shows us her beautiful eyes, full of expression, and thankfullness.
You did a fine job with the collage. I like the way the smaller images are tilted in different ways. Well done.

I suppose when you take it to extremes to photograph kids from above like this, it works again. This is not looking down at the child - this is looking at the child from an interesting angle. And her eyes really are gorgeous.

Great composite, but I don't understand why the middle small photo is so much sharper than the rest. I'd reccomend either sharpening the rest or not using such a strong sharpening on that one photo. Expressions and composition are excellent though.

I liked this colage and agree with one commentary here that could be better yet if the sharpness of the small photos were equal ... eduardo

Cathy i love this shot, the girl is ALL EYES, and has such a cute pose. THe collage works really well here, well done !!

Very well done, Cathy. You've produced an excellent effect here with the collage. I like the angle of the shots. Puts this in the context of "an adult's view".

The only blemish as far as I'm concerned is that the top and bottom small photos are not sharp enough, and the middle one looks oversharp to me. If you fix this up it will be perfect.

Stil very good, then.
Yours,
Andrew.

Hi Cathy, you have beautifully captured a beautiful little girl! I like the colors and the way you combined the photos. If I were you, I might have either added a little blur to the middle left picture, or sharpened all the others, just to make the focus match on all the shots. Also a little work with color balance might help to make her skin color a little warmer. Great collage, I especially like the top right shot!

Thanks for sharing!
