Took this an hour or so after Good Morning Baguio!. The fog has started to dissipate, creating a smooth texture.

At 5000ft above sea, the temperature in Baguio can *plunge* to a low of 10 degrees Celcius. For a city in a tropical country, thats saying a lot :D.

This is an HDR image, merged from 3 exposures using Photomatix.

Base exposure:
ExposureTime - 1/250 seconds

I maintained the f/8.0 and varied the shutter speed.

Photo location:
Mines View Park, Baguio City (Summer capital of the Philippines)

Normally this viewpoint is swarmed with tourists having their pictures taken. But at 5AM in the morning, we have it all to ourselves... :)

Beautiful shot. I love how the mountains layer off in the distance and are accented by the mist.

Shogun

Hi Allan
well... this is more than nic, i just wonder where did u take this from? and what an experience u had over there. the best part is you did share it with us with this perfect picture..
Good Luck
Ali

Great image allan!

Love the mood and the different shades of the mountain as it goes farther. The fog also adds a soothing and cool mood to the photo. The HDR processing you have also done is perfect and looks natural.

Good work! :-)

Excellent work, nice merging on the images, good composition and colour too.

My time in Baguio - even though it was only a couple of days - was most pleasant; it was November and the temperature felt like Auckland, distinctly mild.

I heard lately that in some parts of the mountain province they've even suffered frost ... wow! And that Baguio went down to 9 degrees centigrade. :|

Rew

Wow....
Fantastic portrait Allan.
this is my favorite one.
no need critique here...
this portrait absolutly perfect.
very well done

I like this symphony of art and technology that you have created using your camera Allan. Its truly amazing. Pastel light hues merging with the haze is well captured, the various layers of the mountains and clouds look cool. This is a lovely composition.

Hi Allan,

Very nice shot. Amazing capture with this fog and clouds farther... early in the morning is the best moment to catch this light and texture...
Congratulations
Pascal

Beautiful and aethereal landscape. The colours and luminosity of the fog layer is very pleasing to the eye.

Beautiful landscape. The hills seems never ending. The fog and clouds looks almost unreal - like in a dream.

Stunning photo Allan, well done to you... and your HDR work.

I like the different layers of the mountains, and then finally the clouds..the fog just sets the mood.

Thank you for sharing..

kind regards
Dawn

Ah well damn Allan, this is... SWEET! Even I'd get up at 5am to see this, Mother nature certainly is a pretty lady. :P

Amazing tone with those breezy blues... and I like the way the clouds over in the distance have that strong white... very crisp. Ah but that blue in the mountains, they seem to come up in from a light to a dark... a natural gradient, how lovely. Very nice view... thanks for sharing this, really!! (And, good classy white frame!)

Biance.

Really great moody shot. Love the mist or fog. You might want to crop just a bit more off the top.

Wow, Alan... I'm glad this showed up on tl's portal page. What a beauty (even if I'm not so fond of HDR) with those hills on different "layers", the misty haze does add to the shot. One nit-pick: the frame is way too big, or, in other words, why not use the full 800px for the photo?
Still, TFS!

Beautiful landscape capture.

That's what you call a nice picture. It is always worth waking up early.
One thing only I could add is that it could be framed a little bit differently to get more of the details close to you. Having so much sky above doesn't add much to the picture. Maybe you could crop it.
I like it anyway. Great!
