| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| She is Carol, the kids call her "Ate Carol"... She's a volunteer in "Kanlungan sa Erma Ministry"... I really admire her for being passionate to the kids who are a total stranger and she doesn’t even care if these kids are filthy... I noticed this group of people when I was walking by the street of Manila to do my usual photography... I watched and observed them and found out that they are so sincere in what they are doing... I asked permition if I could take their pictures and in return I'll give them a copy and spread the good deeds they are giving these street children on my own little way... When I posted "Ticket of hope?” one of our fiend (Rew) gave me a wake-up call on his comment... I felt irresponsible posting a gambling kid... Now, I have a different perspective in taking pictures of street kids... I'm not just going to show the whole world that poverty is corrupting this minors in the Philippines, but I'll be sending a message that there is still hope as long as there are people like " Kanlungan sa Erma Ministry”, other Non Government Organization and a few ordinary people who are sincere in giving love to the street children in need... |

Gee I'm to blame? Hehe ...
I'm proud of you for posting shots like this, although there's nothing wrong with showing the reality of poverty and life on the street either, pare.
The fact is that in "Western" countries, NZ included, some people's pets have more pampered lives than many street kids in the Philippines. Not just that - but charity groups pour money and effort into animal welfare, while these kids are living half-naked and uncared for in the parks and highways of Manila.
When I visited Manila and I saw children sleeping alone by the roadside, sitting in despair in the gutter, or begging at the railway stations, I realised how cruel the world really can be.
I salute you and those like Carol who play their part in bringing happiness to these kids' lives.
Thanks for sharing, a very good shot here.
Rew
love above all!
