Not the perfect sharpness but a beautiful mood and moment! The B&W is a very good choise and the expression/ pose of the girl with the water in the background makes a beautiful photo.

Hello,
This photo really symbolizes childhood. Learning little by little to be independent but stil needing mum's hand. Very touching!
Focus is rather soft (probably because you zoomed much), but this softness fits with the childhood mood and is compensated by a good depth of field.
I just would have slightly cropped the photo on the left, as to have mother's arm exactly in the upper left corner of the picture.
