a quiet sunrise shoot along the shores of el nido. the tides were low and i can't believe the stillness of the sea...

nikita (d300) mounted on a tripod fired via cable release. soft graduated neutral density filter (gnd 0.3) was used and edited thru photoshop.

Hello Jeff,

Your title is pefect for this shot!
The calmness is almost surreal!
Perfect composition with the f/g rock creating initial interest, it looks like a large head!
I love how the colours recede into the shot and how the light spreads over the sea and makes it resemble ice!

What a stunning panorama and so well captured, crisp and clear. The sky is quite dramatic, great sharpness; in fact it's all perfect. The presentation in the black frame works fine here. Job well done my friend, I'm impressed!

Calmness is a right title, not easy to have the sea's surface so motionless. But is is an effect of long exposure, I suppose. Very interesting result.

You can almost feel the air.
Photo shows that tripod and cablerelease can be a blessing

Wow Jeff... I really agree with you here...
The stillness of the sea is great... because of the 5 seconds exposure it looks as though it's a very smooth surface... on the other hand, the lack of reflections tell me that the surface was moving!
But... it can't be all still, can it.. it's the sea!!!

I really love the colors and the composition here and the light is just great.
A mighty fine one!
