2nd Pic in my very short "Bay" series :D. The other one is Ulugan Bay

This is Honda bay in Puerto Princesa. A very popular tourist destination because of its island resorts. It takes a day to completely "tour" the islands there.

It also gained notoriety because of the Dos Palmas abduction of tourist (local and foreign) by the Abu Sayyaf in 2001. Included in those abducted were American missionary couple Gracia and Martin Burnham (Martin was executed by the bandits).

So beautiful, yet so dangerous... (hmmm, women are like that ;) ).

My vantage point was Mitra's Farm located near Baker's Hill (Ramon Mitra was a very popular politician. He was a former senator and once ran for presidency, but lost)

ahh your in sta monica then...that house has a 180 degree view of honda bay, the back are the mountains..the mitra boys are my friends and he was my ninong sa kasal after the election...simple man...softspoken...de venecia pulled a fast one on the printing thing a few days before the election...the truth was the congress printing press was a one color machine that would not run long run printing on four colors as it would take a long time...planted yun...we spent holy week in 1992 (a rest from the campaign during holy week) in sta monica.

Palawan is a different part of the Philippines, with traits more like Thailand...
