[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a photo of Pandan Island that I took during our island hopping tour in Palawan. This taken in the mid-afternoon, which is usually not a good time to take photos due to harsh lighting. However, there were rain clouds that helped diffuse the sunlight (see the upper left portion of the photo). This helped in producing deep saturated colors.

I was a bit unsure about the composition on this one because of the leaves on the right side. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

Well now here is another reason to come to the Phillipines. As far as the leaves are concerned I think they work well as a stopper for your subject as the coastline alone would have taken your eye out of the picture. The coastline now leads u into the picture and the tree and the small boat keeps you in the picture. Good shot

DOF excelelnt. Good curve leading into the picture from the left. Dramatic clouds and sky. The boat in the front is an excellent focal point. If it were smaller their would be too much competition between the other elements (thatched roof, distant boats). The leaves on the right is slightly distracting - mostly due to their undefined texture and under exposure. All in all a great landscape shot.

Excellent landscape shot Tim

Your composition and POV are superb. never the minor flaws.

i love the curving effect of the beach perfectly complimented by the cloud formation.

love ko rin ang Palawan. hope to visit this place again in the future

Whoa the contrast in skies here is unreal. Excellent exposure and choice of focal length. Very well done!

tres joli ensemble avec un premier plan bien mis en valeur ,et sa couleur orange qui se détache a merveille du ciel et de la mer .

nice picture timothy! your timing is good! the heavy clouds really give saturated color on the sky! by the way, i like your composition! well done!

Hi Timothy,
This one is really stunning. specially the clouds are wonderful. The boat in the FG is a great FG element and gives the photo the perfect depth. I agree with you on the partial tree. I think a POV more to the right and slightly panned to the left would have been better. But still a wonderful vista.

Niek
