[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Puka beach is near the northern tip of Boracay island. The water here is crystal clear and warm. Just a few minutes across the water from Pinay island in Western Visayas. This 800-meter beach is made up of puka shells bleached white in the sun.Puka Beach is named after the puka shells which are abundant in the beach. Puka means "hole" in Hawaiian and these shells are pieces of the cone snail shell and are so named because of the hole which occurs naturally in the shell fragment. They have been popular material for necklaces, bracelets and anklets and there are a lot sold by the beach.

Hi Murray,
Crips and clear image. The sea looks so attractive to take a plunge! Those blue tones create a wonderful holiday mood. Excellent composition too. A fine posting Murray.

Hi Murray,
Glad to see this idyllic postcard-like posting. Fantastic blue waters, the boat is well placed. A quieter location than than the commercial White Beach, I remember the various small souvenir stalls and seafood restaurants at the crossroad. Ans yes I collected puka shells myself at this same location. I look forward to your future Phil postings. Regards.

Hello Murray,
A beautiful colorful image of the boat and beach. I could have used the beach here today as the temp's are climbing to above 100 and beyond with this record breaking heat wave we are going to endure for the reaminder of the week.
Well Captured.
Have a Great Week...
Steve

Hi Murray

This is where I'm hoping to go in January, whens it's -20c in Seoul, early morning. Idyllic. No other word to describe it. Tfs!

Hi Murray,
Just stumbled across this in your gallery. In a way I wish I hadn't because now all I want to do is jump on a plane and go to the Philippines! Lol. An excellent shot, truly looks like paradise with the bright blue water and golden sand. Very straight horizon, sufficient DOF too. Cheers for the informative note.

TFS,
Scott.
