Hi TL Folks!

Happy Halloween in advance!

This is a civet cat. We call it locally as "musang" or "alamid".
A very curious and charming chap this is. It can crawl on the bars upside down and its a got a prehensile tail as well. Fierce and territorial creatures, the common palm civet be found on the jungles of Southeast Asia.

I shot this on a cage at the back of my hotel where i stayed on the island resort of Boracay. I used a long lens on this but when it saw me, instead of hiding on the bushes it came up to me and stared, clawing and hissing! Quite a large fellow, the size of a small dog!

PP: i cloned three iron bars on the front to give our civet more "sense of freedom".

Thanks for the peek!

I have heard of one of these types of animals, Ian. It is one of the breeds of this that produces the very expensive coffee beans that the “cat” has partly digested and passed. Costs a fortune. He looks very scary indeed , especially the eyes. You have placed it in the pet category , was it a pet? Don’t think it looks to cuddly. Good choice for a Halloween treat. The pp work is seamless to free him. Well done.
Warm Regards
Wanda

HI Ian
Those eyes are impressive.
Would you know if they change colours at night or would you be seeing 2 red spots in the dark?
A bit on the spooky side, you did great with the pp as it shows up really well, and those claws....
Nice work
Dot

Sorry I've missed this before, Ian. Nice capture, the saturation boost sure gave the eyes a Halloweenish mood ;o). Nice cloning work as well, must have taken you a bit... the only place where it's obvious is the repetition of the 2 pairs of vertical beard hairs. Well done!
