Late afternoon watching the clouds over Taal volcano.
"Where in the world is there an island on a lake on an island on a lake, on an island on an ocean?" |

hi Rob,

Kiran.
Rob - many from outside the Philippines will not be aware that the Taal Volcano is considered to be the smallest volcanic cone in the world and that, in this shot, there it is, bottom right of that central island cluster, with an uneven caldera rim, and not that peak in the far distance.
It is notoriously difficult to photograph without either getting lucky with visibility or by getting much closer on the many boat trips on offer.
You have done well here to get the general scene and including the sky was a good choice.
Greetings from Las Pinas.
Rob, Kit's right...congratulations. Taal is difficult to photograph simply because of the weather and the haze caused by the vast expanse. And to add to Kit's information, there's a small lake on that island, not the visible in the photo. So some have described it as a lake within an island, an island in a lake, a lake in an island (Luzon) and an island in the ocean.
