Saber Award on Red Cloth
Hi TL! Among other awards, this +700$ Philippine Navy Sword is awarded to my bro yesterday, for being the number 1 graduating student of Naval Officers Class this year! Yippee! :)

As a backgrounder, my bro Willy is a full scholar all his life. He studied in the prestigious and exclusive school for boys at Southridge. He's a PMAer and a younger mistah of Senator Trillanes who know's him pretty well. He studied in the US for special studies in anti-terrorism and other matters. He wants to serve his people. He's a debater, mathematician, computer programmer and a new doting father to a cute 4 month old baby boy. I'm proud of him :)

The plaque inside the Plexiglas enclosure reads...

The sword, from olden days, was a highly personal weapon and of symbolic importance. Its practical value, probably last demonstrated by knights, remains even in the age of information as a symbol of authority for officers of the armed services. Its use in the noble profession of arms necessitates close adherence to the principles of chivalry and honor.

The Philippine Navy knows of no higher symbol of respect and gratitude to present to an officer, especially a commander, who has rendered honorable and excellent service.

Hi, Freddie,
I like all the elements contained in the image, and the story behind it . I was in the mil and know what honor means to a serviceman. Congratulations to him.

My best

Sarge

Hi Freddie,
At first I wondered whether the POV you chose didn't deprive us the finer detail above the hilt, but I see now that you were showing us the detail in the handguard too.
It would have been hard to choose the POV for this. There are so many ways you could make it look good.
You've done very nicely here though.

You must be very proud of your brother.
Well done.
Steve

Great perspective. Nice colours. Great composition and excellent contrast.
Best wishes,
Achim

Good morning Freddie

Freddie, well done! This sword looks really good. And excellent PP work.
And CONGRATULATIONS to your brother on being the number 1 graduating student of Naval Officers Class - what an honour.
Cheers
Janice

Hi Freddie,

First of all, allow me to congratulate your brother.

This photo, most of your photos in TL actually, is not just simply striking, beautiful and meaningful. Artistic touch + valuable notes on how you did it, make you and your arts so special.

TFS. Ramdan

Wonderful PP work on a very good photo. Congratulations also to your brother for a remarable achievement. Thank you for the notes I have learnt a lot from them.

GORGEOUS shot Freddie! nice details, I love the shinyness to the shot! Excellent notes too!

Great way to feature this saber in the red theme! The red gives a plush background to enhance the metalic shine, the fabulous details, and the contrasting colors. Congratulations to Willy, and kudos to you for the image:)
