[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
To match the mood of Yshin, I though of processing it into duo tone that leaning towards black and white. Anyway, you can still see the colored one in the Workshop.

Beautiful portrait.
Greetings.

Hey mate

Well you know I'll always be honest in my critique - it doesn't always win me friends, but at least I keep my integrity. :)

With that in mind - this isn't your best work, I'm afraid. The most glaring issue here is the chopped-off hands and feet. Limbs cropped at the extremity - wrists and ankles - almost always look bad in photos, and here is no exception. This either needed to include her hands and feet, or be cropped much, much closer to become a head-and-shoulders shot.

And - there's the other issue. Unfortunately it's not a great shot of her face, either. The angle foreshortens her face and distorts her eye, to a point where we really can't get a good view of her face at all.

Team all that with the fact that you also cropped the top of her head and its crown of flowers ... well you get what I mean.

Light is well managed here though, and I like the blue-toned b&w execution on this. Focus is perfect, DOF well managed, and her hair looks beautiful here!

Keep shooting my friend, not every shot will be a winner, but every shot is a way to learn.

Hi Jeruel,
Nice mixed format well blended. Well framed and composed portrait. Well done! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Hi Jeruel:
This is a good shot but as Rew said It would have great if it had a nice tight crop around the face and shoulders, I can't really judge portraits because I haven't really tried a serious one yet but the hands out of view in this one is very noticeable and feels intuitively like we should see the hands..... thanks for showing my friend........Roman:0)

hi Jeruel,

Basicly I agree with Rew, but for hair and light i think still need more corection here.
hair... maybe you must using hair stylist for this shot, why ? becose this is the artwork and full of beauty art, look POV and DOV, pose and model expression, all the thing its about beauty art, right ? and you miss an art on her hairs :)
lighting... its too strong from the front so you loosing the dimension on her body, i need more than 2 minuth to know her style pose.
maybe you can try to bounce back lighting from the front or using softbox if you have.

I see your workshop (the colors version), i think i like the colors version :)

tfs and as Rew said... Keep shooting my friend

best regards
Haldian
