[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Started this new hobby of mine with friends this year. This was the first time to hit the trails, so i thought, "what a great chance to shoot some nature pics!" Of course, i wasn't going to bring my D70s (although i did have it, but left it in the car). Out comes my handy Canon Ixus 60.
Nothing against point-and-shoot cameras (it's the composition that counts), and maybe i had the wrong settings on, but the details don't come out as much. so do the colors. (I'm not going into the Canon vs Nikon discussions, so STOP!) Oh well... this is just one of the shots i took.
No cropping done, I framed the shot as is. Started PP with Adobe Lightroom using Direct Positive (I love that setting!) and adjusted the colors and brightness a bit. Final touches on PS CS3.

ganda ng framing and POV Patrick. Tfs

Oggie

Looks like some fun trails, Nice POV with the closeup of the bike in the foreground.

The colours have come out, just nice, makes me want to hit the trails myself ...

Hi Patrick,

Great colours and great idea! I like the lighting and the contrast of green and the black of the bike. Sharp details.
Interesting photo to watch!
Well done!

TFS Greetings Simone

very interesting shot, great mood and composition.

Hi Patrick,

Hahaha, good to hear you're not going into the Canon vs. Nikon discussion :-). Hey, you did add as the camera used for this shot. Guess that's wrong then? Must be your natural bias towards Nikon hahaha.

I like it, despite the few flaws you are already pointing out yourself. Seems like it's not just grass growing there :-).
Leaving your Nikon in a car, unguarded. Throwing around the bikes. You guys aren't really careful with the equipment you have!! ;-)

Greetings,
Dennis

Great image here Patrick!

I like the Direct Positive too. Surreal results and out of this world.

Keep it up!

I like this POV and perspective, with the bikes featured curiously along the trail (evokes the question "Is everyone OK?" !)in this remote-looking setting. Love the atmosphere...is that from the Direct Positive setting you mentioned? I just installed Lightroom recently but don't find that setting anywhere...would you be so kind as to explain where it is?
