[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
after six hours of night travel, we arrived to our friend's place in sta. cruz at dawn. he took us immediately to a small lake and rice paddies near candelaria. we felt lazy due to long trip from manila and not enough energy for the sunrise shoot.

we were wrong.

as soon as the sun started to rise, the landscape glowed. we defied weariness, mosquitoes and stench of animal droppings.

i took this shot using soft gnd filter, my camera mounted on a tripod and fired via cable release. to add fill, i popped my flashgun several times. saturation enhanced thru lightroom.

Hello Jeff,

Nice idea to fire your flashfun on the foreground. That's quite well balanced! Did you have a diffuser on it? The tobacco toning in the sky doesn't entirely do it for me. But the whole compo is nice and an interesting idea with the flashing.

wow, I am thoroughly impressed with this shot! I am amazed at how little feedback it has recieved! It is truly an awesome image! Your composition is very effective with the trampled path leeding into the image, and the grass is so sharply in focus! I have just purchased the sigma 10-20 mm lens, it hasn't come in yet but I can't wait! I have been using the 18-55 mm kit lens as a landscape lens for the past year and a half,
