But what is the real essence of celebrating Linggo ng Wika? Is this important for us Filipinos? Even Manuel L. Quezon, saw the need of “Wikang Pambansa” for the Filipinos. It is our own life, without it, a country can’t stand alone, it is the reason why we are united, because we speak one common language. Celebrating Linggo ng Wika is not just for fun. This is our way of showing our love and respect to our country. Also, a way of acknowledging the works of our heroes who struggled much to free this country. This helped us remember all the hard works and sacrifices of all our ancestors. It is one way of showing our rich Filipino culture and traditions. It also expresses our deep love and appreciation of having Filipino as the”Wikang Pambansa.” Lastly, it is important for its mirrors our society. It shows the confidence of being a Filipino and serves as a bond that will unite us for the country’s development.
