One of my takes of Buruwisan Falls during my last trek to Mt. Romelo. We camped just above the falls.

Buruwisan is also a favorite rappelling site among mountaineers. During the summer, this place is usually packed so I decided to go there while its the rainy season to avoid the crowd. The mud and the leeches made our midnight trek a bit of a challenge.

I shot this in the morning when the lighting is even. I have to wait for an overcast sky to avoid patches of sunlight in the frame. I did not have to use an ND filter, the CPL I'm using (plus the choice of aperture) was enough to reduce the f/stop to my liking.

One of the hazards of shooting near falls is the water spray. While others might play it safe by selecting a vantage point farther from the falls, I'd sometimes like to push the limit. My tripod was in knee deep water at this time and I have to use a zip lock to cover my camera while waiting for the proper lighting. :)

No PP except USM after resize.

Thanks for viewing!

-------------
I posted in the workshop another version, this time sharpening using USM was applied to the rest of the frame expect the falls (masking was used).

The almost white portion at the bottom of the falls where the water splashes was quite hard to avoid. While my hi-res TIFF shows no OE, most of the details there were lost during resizing, rendering that area almost white.

Hi Allan

Nice shot and excellent composition. The greens in this image are an amazing shade and look great. My only nit with this image is the overexposed water of the falls. Outside of that this is a very nice image.

Hello Allan !
Thatīs really an eyecatching image!!!
TFS.
Brazilian Greetings,

Nice capture Allan. Well composed, with beautiful colors. I think the shutter speed is slightly too long though. The waterfall is a little too overexposed.

David

Hi Allan,

Worth and effort mo dito Sir, ang ganda ng result at parang ang lamig ng tubig. Agree ako sa aperture mo sulit ang details at kulay.

tfs........Buddy

i just missed this trek nung nagbakasyon ako last july..busy masyado... planning to go back there this november...but definitely no more night treks...

Ganda ng capture mo bro.. sakto ang exposure. nice silky waterfalls.. tama lahat sa note mo.. the place must really be wet and moist most of the time base sa kulay ng lumot sa paligid.

hi allan, its a wonderful image with nice colors, shutterspeed and exposure, neat to read how you did it, reminds me of myself setting up the tripod in the water-trying to steady it!
nice shot,

Hi Allan,

Beautifully composed . .
I love seeing that milky water due to slower speed . .
So peaceful and calm place here . .
Great shot my friend

Hello Allan!
What a great place, wonderful colours and lovely perspective!
Excellent water effect!
Beautiful waterfall!
Best regards!
Lili

amazing scenery allan! i must agree on the overexposed parts of the waterfall. anyho, still great. tfs.

You did well here - beautiful capture of light, detail, and colour. I can understand your lament about the apparent OE where the water is hitting at the base of the fall, but really it is not an issue in my opinion.
Nicely composed, well delivered.
