[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Folks,

Another street photography shot taken during my short visit to Manila, the Philippines.

I like the striking distance - a paradox or an irony, here. Against the backdrop of a more modern mode of transportation – a motorcycle and a four-wheel drive vehicle - a young man is seen here transporting loads of big boxes by pulling a cart.

Except the veins in his hand which are evident here, he seems to be performing the task at ease.

In a big city where traffic congestion is a part of its daily life and causes loss of precious time, sometimes doing things in an ‘out-dated’ way can save time and cost, if not energy.

About Street Photography:

Street photography is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, political conventions, and other settings.

Street photography uses the techniques of straight photography in that it shows a pure vision of something, like holding up a mirror to society. This genre of photography is present in contemporary times and is usually done as black and white photographs.

Street photography often tends to be ironic and can be distanced from its subject matter and often concentrates on a single human moment, caught at a decisive or poignant moment.

On the other hand, much street photography takes the opposite approach and provides a very literal and extremely personal rendering of the subject matter, giving the audience a more visceral experience of walks of life they might only be passingly familiar with.

Read here for more about this interesting genre of photography.

Thanking you in advance for viewing and your kind words.

Have a great weekend.

Agoes

Hi Agoes,
I like this shot. I have seen this many times in China. Amazing how much people can move at one time when they put their mind to it. Excellent clarity and sharpness. Mice work.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Argoes, Well cropped street scene. The work is tough but it keeps him in good shape physically. Very good clarity and timing. The moving legs gives more action. TFS. Murray.

Salamat Paki dear Agoes.
Very paradox indeed.
Why doesn't 'get' himself a four by four ?
That two wheels he is using now, are not fast enough to deliver this goods on time, right ?
Okay, its an good morning excersice and he looks he is strong enough for the next Olympics, but that take another few years.
ahwell, you got your shot and we get the fun for looking at, haha
Very well seen and captured, Terima Kasih.
Greetings from Jan

Strong image here with great juxtaposition of concepts, manual versus mechanical transportation; motored vehicles resting, man working.
Good composition, light and depth.
Perfect clarity showing veins and muscles and concentration.
Good work,
Thanks for the view,
Wilt
