Egrets of Candaba
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The wetlands of Candaba in Pampanga (70km north of Manila) are teeming with migratory birds this time of the year. The photo shows (L-R) a Chinese egret, a Lesser egret and a Great Egret
I was aiming for a not so usual wildlife shot. After a few "practice" clicks I decided to:
- set my image optimization to landscape (more blues)
- EV compensation to -1/3EV
and waited for a "good formation" (hand held shot).
PP:
- adjusted levels (the image looked different when I viewed it from my PC compared to what saw in the camera LCD). I should have used an EV compensation of at least -1EV to get the mood I was after.
- by adjusting the color balance I was able to get a deep blue.
- image was not cropped
- resized + USM
Have a nice weekend everyone and thanks for the peek! |

this is almost unbelievable :)
very well seen and well captured :) i love the sharpness and how the egrets are placed within the frame :)
i applaud your under exposure :) it has helped in keeping the highlight details in the bird's white color as well as a deeply saturated water :)

HI Allan
Impressive photo, I like the egrets and the presence of just two colours - blue and white - in this compo. Awesome!
Tfs and best wishes,
Martyn
