A view of one of the bamboo framework that supports the netting below the water, where the oysters are holding on to. These nettings are then raised up above water for gathering the oysters.
Bamboo frameworks like these border the banks of the river that are exposed to the salt water of Guimaras Strait.
This view was taken from a bridge over the Monfort River, in Dumangas, Iloilo. This is the part of the Monfort River that meets the salty waters of Guimaras Strait. Restaurants adjacent to the river on this area serve really fresh oysters.
Processing done by Photoshop to enhance but not change the actual picture context.
During this trip to the Philippines, I had with me my new toy, a point and shoot camera that can take RAW format. The Canon G10. I am very satisfied with it.
