| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| In the city called Yaroslavl, in Russia, there is a park where the rivers Volga and Kotorosl come together. At that location is a small park where tourists visit daily to sample the souvenirs and the ice cream. This is Lena, the ice cream girl. I met her during a three month volunteer program I attended in the summer of 2001. We actually met in a public rest room, when she heard me speaking English. She enjoyed the opportunity to practice her English with me, and we became friends quickly. I visited her daily during my long walks along the beautiful embankment. I wish to post photos I took during my stay in Russia, but they are all on film. If anyone has tips for me on scanning (or otherwise copying) and posting these photos, feel free to contact me. Also, I'm afraid I don't have much technical information recorded as to the taking of these photos. I hope this won't detract from people's interest in seeing them? |

Face of girl is lost because of the large signboard of ice cream. The skanirovannuyu photograph must be a little processed so that it would look more brightly
Hi Martin. I think it catches a dreamy moment in a summer place quite nicely.
Scanners these days are not very expensive and they tend to want to do all the thinking for you. Adobe Photoshop Elements is also pretty inexpensive and wonderful for working on the pictures - much better than the software that comes with scanners generally.
The image and the note itself is more than interesting enough to keep the onlookers interested. I am sorry I have no advice on scanning, I just scan them and my scanner is pretty new so it does a decent job of it. Although the lighting isn't perfect in this photo... it does add a wonderful effect to the image, it gives us a sense of time and the thickness of the air. I like the photo... I just wish it were a bit bigger, so we could see more details. A wonderful piece of work Martin, good note and an interesting shot. And welcome to Treklens, I'm sure you'll learn wonderful things about photography on here. :)
TFS.
