The purple lupins are not really all that noticeable, but I liked the strong diagonal layers of grass, & trees here. And the colour contrast between the yellow green grass & th deep blue lake. That's Lake Baikal at right. The world's deepest lake, & holding more fresh water, than all the North American Great Lakes combined.

"Severobaykalsk (Russian: Северобайка́льск, literally: Northern Baikal) is a town in Buryatia, Russia. It is located on the northern end of Lake Baikal at the mouth of the Tyya River, 440 kilometres (270 mi) northwest of Ulan-Ude and 490 kilometres (300 mi) northeast of Irkutsk. Severobaykalsk has a population of 25,800 (2006 est.), down from an estimated 35,000 before 1990. The town was founded in 1974 as a work settlement for workers constructing the Baikal Amur Mainline and it was granted town status in 1980."

Bom dia Chris,
First impression: an awesome diagonal!
An accurate analysis: great POV/DOF, nice colors and perfect focus
Fine post.
Cheers,
Raimundo

Hello Chris,

Yes, this shot stands out for its fine diagonal composition and strong contrasts between the textures of the grass, the trees and the sea.
The tall verticals give strong, upward movement.

Perhaps the f/g needs a little more colour depth.
Do you know what I mean?

Have a great w/e, my friend,
Bev :-)

Helo Chris
So beautiful and fine work
Huge Russian land

Namastay Chris,

I like the diagonally placing of the landscape against the blue sky!
The colors of the sk gives great contrast to the lush green landscape wnd thereby bringing charm and mood into the capture. The sharpness and POV are very well chosen. the tree trunks add another piece of beauty to your work.

best regards,
Paras

Hi Chris,

The diagonal layers are excellent, and the lake makes for a beautiful background. The fg could use a slight increase in saturation, but I think that would be very difficult to do with the barren trees in the way. TFS

Have a great weekend!

Werner

Hi Chris

Excellent colors, contrast and perspective
Have a nice weekend

Hi Chris,
I hope you did not have trouble shooting this scene as the slope in the f/g appears very steep. Yes it is a pity the lupines are not readily apparent but it is probably difficult to achieve a lower pov. Fine view between the pine trees, the blue water enhances the image quality. Cheers
Danilo

Yeah, the strong diagonal in the FG, the strong vertical in the trees, and the strong horizontal in the BG make a good shot. Colors are vivid as always.
I've never seen Lupines in the wild ... apparently we have them in Eastern Canada, but I've never been out that way.
Hope you're feeling better Chris.
Trudy

Ciao Chris

The landscape view from here is fabulous,
I love these trees, is as
training to stop the wind.
The colors are green and beautiful
different shades!
Sharpness and clarity are very well.
Nice photograph job.

Have a nice weekend,

Sergio

Chris
Wonderful capture this purple lupins, but I find most remarkable the landscape, the lake, and the wonderful light.
Congratulation!
Horia

Hi Chris,

The point of view takes my eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. The trees are framing well the gras and the lake. The good luminosity is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre
