My apologies in advance if there are any rude Russian words amongst this lot of graffiti. I walked across this huge dam & back. My train to Severobaikalsk at the top of Lake Baikal, also went across the top of this massive dam. (Both the road & railwayline to/from Moscow pass over the top of it.) I liked the receding dual curves & perspective here.

"Bratsk Reservoir (Russian: Бра́тское водохрани́лище, Bratskoye Reservoir) is a reservoir of the Angara River, located in Irkutsk Oblast[1], Russia. It is named after the city of Bratsk, the largest city adjacent to the reservoir. It has a surface area of 5,470 square kilometres (2,112 sq mi) and a maximum volume of 169.27 billion cubic metres (5,977.71 billion cubic feet).

This earth fill dam of the Bratsk hydroelectric plant was completed in 1967. It is 125 metres (410 ft) high and 4,417 metres (14,491 ft) long. The Baikal Amur Mainline railroad runs along the top of the dam. At the time of its inauguration, the reservoir was the largest artificial lake in the world.[3] Its electrical power capacity is 4,500 MW.[2] The epic construction of the reservoir is the subject of a large eponymous poem by Yevgeny Yevtushenko."

Hi Chris,

Looks like we're neighbors today. You have a great eye for composing shots like this. The receding curves are well captured, and other than the graffiti, this is nice scenic shot. The division between nature and human intrusion is also well seen. TFS

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Chris,

Ohh, this is a nice shot with beautiful perspective and great details!
The colors are nice and the POV and sharpness are superb. The boundary gives great contrast to the bluish waters.

Very well done, my friend!

Paras

Hey Chris,
Your composition is textbook like, a classic. The arc is a wonderful lead-in to the scenic vista beyond. I don't mind the graffiti at all it adds charm. Lovely colors with good exposure management. Best regards
Danilo

Interesting concept.A very original take on dam shots.Everything handled great.Regards Otto.

That's one massive dam! Four kilometres in length ... what a project! No surprise there's a poem written in its honour, and given the completion date, it was as much a muscle-flexing exercise as anything else.

Nice use of compositional rules to put everything in its proper place here!

Rew

excellent pov The dam and electricity poles lead nicely into the distance Water us a beautiful colour TFS
warm regards
David

Hey Chris, this is just great .. the sweeping curve of this huge dam, the row of power poles, the colors .. just all really great.
