[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A quiet stream in the peaceful lakeside village of Listvyanka. And not just any lake, but the world's biggest, deepest & oldest freshwater lake, none other than Baikal. I liked the natural perspective here, combined with the manmade fence at left. The water color is natural. Much like Tea Tree in coastal streams in Australia, the humic acid taints the water a much darker color, than it would otherwise be. Many tourists I spoke to said not to bother going to Listvyanka as there "was nothing to see there". I decided to check it out for myself.

Hi Chris,

Great colors and the wonderful landscape with great use of the natural light!
The green hill works great here and its offcentered position is well chosen.

Great work.

best regards,
Paras

Hi Chris,
A wonderful stream crossing this marvelous landscape.
A nice composition adorned with fabulous lighting.
The greenery on the hill is fantastically detailed on one side and on the other the fine details on the wooden huts.
The running water in the stream is making alive this peaceful scene.
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi, Chris -
Very bright and bold landscape with vibrant natural colors. The stream does look unusually dark, particularly against the sunny hills and grass. Very sharp throughout. Great POV allows the eye to follow the stream through the image. Well done.

Hi Chris,

Did you have your hip waders on for this shot? You seem to always find the right POV for your photos and this is no exception. Very scenic and I'm glad you explained the water's color.

TFS,
Werner

Hi Chris,
Beautifull landscape.
The stream and the green
hill looks great on this
sunny day. Even the fence
and the houses makes this
shot charming.
regards.

Hello Chris,

This is a beautiful place and you have captured it very well with an amazing POV-looks like you were standing in the middle of the stream! Nice natural colours and incredible DOF. Well done and TFS! Really enjoyed reading your notes.

Hello Chris,

You are too wise to take the views of others!
This was certainly worth the visit!
A good pov, where the water channels our view, via its generous curve, deeper into the shot.
The hilside makes a good diagonal composition and provideds a pleasing blue/green contrast.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris

Nice spot place well captured in this landscape
Good composition specialy due to river curves
The colors and details are remarkable as well

TFS, Alireza

Great shot Chris. Wow, you were there at the right time ... everything looks so lush and green.
Great perspective, with the little stream and the fence as lead-in. Very vivid .. eye-catching.
Trudy

Hi Chris,

The curve of the stream is an asset to the composition. It is also leading my eye toward the mountain which is giving depth to the photo. The fence is freaming well the stream. The quality of the light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.
