| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Looking on my photo-archives and thinking what picture to upload first on TL, I have decided to show this view from my car on the building of fancy shopping mall in downtown of Moscow city, called Kalinka-Stockmann. I think, that this is good idea to present me as a guide, driver and photographer in Moscow who want to show you something interesting from Russia. This picture I took from my old Russian car LADA 21099 about 1.5 year ago, in summer 2005, it was warm and sunny day (lovely weather, if compare with current weather and season :-)).
"Kalinka-Stockmann" is the chain of markets in Moscow, where the prices are quite expensive (I can say the most expensive grocery stores in Moscow). But in this shop you can find everything from sleepers to olives, wide range of goods which foreigners used to buy on West, but can not be found in another shopping malls; also they have a wide choice of delicacies for the most demanding gourmets. On the red banners is written: "Rasprodazha", which means "Sale" on English, of course, they can do this trick in this overpriced shop.
Oh, buy the way, here is also very interesting detail - double parking in Moscow is very common. While I was waiting here my client, I had not any choice to park normally nearby sidewalk. This shopping mall is located on the Garden Ring around downtown of Moscow city and even the road has 6 lines each way, usually here is very bad traffic and now you know why.. :-). Policemen come from time to time asking drivers to move the cars at least from the second line, but in 30-60 min will be the same situation..
Hope that my intro with this first picture was interesting for you and looking forward to hearing your comments! :-)
With BEST Regards,

Welcome Arthur, good to see you here. And it is an interesting and a sunny picture as well. The yellow building and red flags shine out at us.
Double parking - definitely NOT allowed down under! And the Mall sounds like a very expensive place to visit too. But the word "SALE" is a very popular name - it should draw people into the Mall:)
Thanks Arthur
Best regards
Janice

Прелесть, что за лозунг,Артур!
У нас недавно было что-то похожее, не про террористов, а про беглого преступника:
Давайте поймаем его вместе!
Поймали.
Он, конечно, злодей, но немного его жалко.
